The hospitality industry was among the most affected sectors by COVID-19. Unprecedented travel restrictions posed serious challenges seen in declines in revenue, insolvencies, and job losses. Many businesses had to rely on capacity reduction to overcome the ruthless march of the pandemic, with particular difficulties in running business operations faced by small and medium enterprises.
However, as history teaches us, periods of chaos present opportunities for growth. One such team emerged with an idea to approach the problem from a novel perspective. Unifai was born with the objective of optimising the organisation of the hospitality workforce and shaping the future of the modern hospitality industry, thereby securing hotel businesses a digital competitive advantage in the long term.
Unifai engaged Tech387 to build the product from scratch, starting from a raw idea and initial wireframes. Following a series of tests conducted with hoteliers, Unifai acknowledged the desired user flows and decided to go into the production phase whilst seeking an ambitious pace of delivery.
Tech387 was challenged to respond with the most optimal approach designed to minimise development time and reduce cost while not compromising the quality of product delivery. The objective was to release the app as early as possible and start gathering feedback from early adoptors.
